Pēc vēlēšanās, var smalki sagriezt sīpolu gredzenos, iemarinēt to ūdenī ar etiķi, sāli un cukuru. Sīpolus marinādē uz kādu laiku liek ledusskapī, lai tie kļūtu vēl garšīgāki. Marinētie sīpoli lieliski saderēs ar kotletēm.
